FREE IMMUNIZATION / INFLUENZA

Winter is flu season.  To receive the flu shot by the “Centre de santé et de services sociaux du Pontiac” this year, you must present yourself at one of our walk-in clinics at the dates and locations given below.  Please make sure you have your medical card with you.
Anyone with a chronic disease (heart, lungs, kidneys, diabetic, cancer, important obesity etc.), persons 60 years of age and over, caregivers, health care workers, pregnant women and children from 6 to 23 months of age are especially targeted to be immunized.

 Pluriannual Strategic Plan 2012-2015

Our strategic planning process aims at continuity and enhancement of the services already in place throughout our territory. The Plan contains the necessary foundations for attainment of our local, regional and national orientations, based on seven main issues. We invite you to consult our Plan.

Construction of the new Pontiac Reception Centre

The construction and site development of the new Pontiac Reception Centre have started on July 2011. Construction will be spanned out over fifteen (15) months.
To date, we are finalizing the concrete slab for the basement and will be receiving the main electrical panels, near the end of January. You will be seeing, in the coming weeks, more and more apparent changes. The building enclosure and interior partitions are in progress.
The deadlines are met (November 2012) and the collaboration with all concerned parties is excellent.

Grief Therapy Support Group

• Do you find yourself reliving your situation?
• Do you find yourself feeling empty inside?
• Do you feel like you don't know what to do?

If you answered yes to any of these, the CLSC offers you the opportunity to share and exchange your feelings through counseling therapy in a support group. A series of themes will be addressed to help you come to terms and accept this painful moment in your life. Confidentiality is assured, and you are welcome to share as little or as much as you like. Info-Santé : a single number 8-1-1, a telephone-based professional consultation service, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, aims to meet information, referral-orientation, professional opinion and advice needs in the health and social services field. The Info-Santé service allows you to contact a health care professional in case of a non-urgent problem.

In keeping with quality of care offered to our population, we wish to inform you that construction work will be done in the emergency room of the Pontiac Hospital, Shawville. Work will start during the week of June 13th 2011 and will continue until September 15, 2011.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the construction but assure you that there will be no changes in the services offered in the emergency room.
