Quality Assurance Committee

The functions of the Quality Assurance Committee concern quality aspects, i.e., to ensure that means to guarantee the quality of the services provided are in place . Its functions also include promotion of a quality assurance approach, development of assessment tools and monitoring of all activities carried out to improve quality. It supports the programs and services in their quality assurance activities by providing methodological assistance and training. It ensures that objectives are established and that activities are carried out in the programs and services by the different teams.

The Quality Assurance Committee is composed of the following nine members:

- Mélanie Francoeur, Responsible of the Risk and Quality Committe
- Ann Rondeau, Responsible for Accreditation
- Robert Ladouceur, Represening the Users' Committee
- Paulette Boucher, Representing the managers
- Lucille Bélair, Representing the Council of Nurses
- Sophie Bonin, Representing the Multidisciplinary Council
- Benoit Paré, Service Quality and Complaints Commissioner
- Gail Ryan, Director of Nursing
- Dr John Wotton, Director of Professionnal Services

We held only two meetings this year, due to the pandemic which took up a lot of our time. The topics discussed at these meetings were:
Schedule of 2009-2010 meetings
Client satisfaction survey by the Conseil québécois d’agrément
Policy on communication
Development of a folder containing different sections, such as: 
-  PACQ policy (Quality Assurance Program)
-  Policy on communication
-  Assessment inspection of Quality in Residential Centres
-  Report on surveys
-  Reports of the different  professional orders
-  Medical section 
-  Accreditation
-  Performance accountability
-  Minutes.
 
The following points were discussed at every meeting:
Review of our Quality Assurance Program (PACQ) policy
Accreditation  2011.
 
This year we have set as our objective to meet every two months, in order to follow up more closely on quality issues and also to follow the development of the policy on communication.
