VIOLENCE AWARENESS WEEK

11/06/2007 - Lu 1248 fois
The week of December 4th thru 8th , 2000 is violence awareness week. Many activities will be organise during this week.

Many activities will be organise during this week. L’EntourElle is leading this week, with the collaboration of the CLSC - CHSLD - Pontiac Hospital and the comity for Violence Awareness Week to make a success of this event.

Violence touches us all, our family, friends, employees and co-workers. One of whom may have been or is a victim or may know of someone that is or has been victimized. Violence is something that we may be confronted with at home, school, in the workplace and it may be affecting our quality of life.

Violence is complex. To understand the problem, we must look beyond the family unit. To get to the bottom of it and make changes, we must examine the values and attitudes of ourselves and of others.

The employees of the CLSC, with the collaboration of L’EntourElle, will organize information booths on Friday December the first. Theses booths will be located to the clinic in Fort-Coulonge and the hospital in Shawville. Information will be available on the White Ribbon Campaign, which emphasis on the commitment of men to fight and discourage violence against women.

Many more activities will be held in the Pontiac during this week. We do invite you to consult the official program to have more informations.

Hoping that you will join us and help us to decrease the negative consequences violence is leaving in our community, we invite you to contact ressources persons for more information.

Kim Boucher, week coordonator, L’EntourElle, 683-2709

Paul Drouin, community organiser, 648-2193
