The mental Health week finished Friday May 11th
This week aimed, among other things :
In making people aware about the ways to improve their quality of life, |
In proposing ways to defuse daily, irritable situations... |
Many activities took place in the establishment but also in all the community organisations of the region. |
Two prominent activities took place during this week :
first, on Tuesday May 8th, 2001 took place the "Brunch des Intervenants" at the Auberge du Mont-Blanc at Portage du Fort. About 100 people attended at the meeting. The staff from our establishment, the Sûreté du Québec, the staff from other community organisations (Intervalle, EntourElle, Patro, CREP, Jellinek, Youth Centres, etc.) met again to share their experience during this long-awaited annual meeting. During this first part of the meeting, Richard Grimard, our assistant executive director welcomed all the participants and gave a portrait of what mental Health really is with his well known usual humour, followed by Raymond Rochon and Guylaine Marcil. The CLSC gave a plaque to honour the Maison de la famille from Quyon and Fort Coulonge for their work and important place in the community. Like the other years, CAP Santé Outaouais and the organizing committee award was presented to a volunteer for the honorary prize in mental Health service. This year, this prize was awarded to Mrs. Léa Lefebvre for her great involvement. Céline Guidon, author, composer, interpreter and honorary president of the mental Health week gave us a general idea of her talent. She was chosen for her great involvement by the Youth in the region and her charism. She performed among other, with the song that she composed for this week. Finally, attendance prizes were distributed. The second part of the meeting allowed everyone to enjoy themselves and to slow down... with a magician, Luc Leduc and his partner Sherry, with their amazing magical illusions... to return to work with the same passion ! |
second, on Thursday night, May 10th, 2001 a show was presented at the Sieur de Coulonge High School Agora. First, Jacynthe Chénier from Aylmer interpreted some songs that she loves, showing great talent, accompanied by two dancers. Then, Céline Guindon with her musicians interpreted their songs. Her own songs that she composed and she also interpreted some French, Portuguese and Spanish songs. She charmed the audience with ease and we returned home singing her songs joyfully. |
