The members of the Executive of the Multidisciplinary Council of the "Centre de santé et de services sociaux du Pontiac".

The Multidisciplinary Council is composed of all employees who hold a college or university diploma, who exercise functions in the institution characteristic of the activity sector covered by this diploma, and related to health and social services. The functions of the Multidisciplinary Council can be resumed as follows:
  - To assist the professionals in their practice in the institution—changes to be made to improve client care
  - To carry out assessments to measure service quality and improve it accordingly
  - To suggest activities to promote ongoing training of our members
 -  To suggest ways to ensure skills maintenance
  - To encourage peer committees on specific issues.

All recommendations or opinions can be brought to the institution's Board of Directors.

The  members  of  the  Executive  of  the  Multidisciplinary Council of our establishment are :

- Georges Robitaille, President
- Sophie Bonin, Vice-President
- Marie-Eve Langlois, Secretary
- Richard Grimard, Executive Director
- Joanne Dubois, Nutrition Technician, Member
- Anne Mageau, Human Relations Officer, Member
- Chantal Lair, Recreation Technician

We had fewer activities this year. Several factors were responsible for this, but we will double our efforts in the coming year to offer our members a stimulating place to hold discussions. This year, only one activity (lunch meeting) was organized by the commit tee.

This particular activity dealt with nutrition.  Mrs. Joanne Dubois and Mrs. Katiana Cordoba, who both work in the field of nutrition, had us salivating as they demonstrated the importance of eating well, because, in short "We are what we eat". Sometimes the result can be pretty devastating for our own physical health. Healthy eating is in fact an excellent means of preventing diseases. The activity

was greatly appreciated by our members.

During our Executive Committee meetings we also discussed several points of an organizational nature concerning the institution:

Pandemic, Ministry inspection of the IRs-FTRs, Personnel Recruitment and Retention Committee, functional and technical plan (PFT), Accreditation and other one-time issues. All the points we raise are taken into consideration by our Executive Director and actions can therefore be taken.

For the coming year, we mean to plan several lunch meetings, utilizing our own expertise in various areas, and we also hope to invite speakers on topics chosen by our members. In addition, initiating an information page on our email and adding a heading "Multidisciplinary Council" to our internal bulletin Le Miroir will be an effective means of communication that will promote learning.

This type of transmission of information is an interesting and dynamic means of keeping up with the very latest in knowledge.  Moreover, our knowledge in the field is a genuine plus for our institution and our opinions are therefore important in the eyes of our managers. Since we work in an institution where anonymity is not a factor, it is easier for us to speak about our needs and ideas on improving client services. We would like to take this opportunity to highlight the exceptional respect that reigns in this institution.  Let's keep on in this direction and the population will enjoy the benefits.
